ALBION defender Joel Veltman has been rewarded for his stellar performance against Crystal Palace with a spot in a team of the week.
The Dutchman has been named in the Whoscored.com, a detailed football statistics website, team of the week alongside other key players from the latest round of Premier League fixtures.
Veltman played a key role in Albion's 1-1 draw against rivals Palace, as he assisted Neal Maupay's late equaliser with a brilliant first time pass straight from a Vincente Guaita goal kick.
The defender was able to perfectly side-foot the ball over the Palace backline and into the path of Maupay, who made no mistake with his lobbed finish.
As well as his well-timed attacking contribution, Veltman also made a big difference in the defence. He made the most amount of tackles (eight) out of anyone in the Albion team without giving away a single foul.
Veltman also made one interception and one clearance, which helped the Seagulls stop the Eagles from adding to their one goal.
Overall, the 29-year-old was given a match rating of 8.01, enough to make him the highest-rated player from the game on both sides.

Veltman was joined in the team of the week by Wolves' Jose Sa, Villa's Kortney Hause, Brentford's Ethan Pinnock, Manchester City's Joao Cancelo, Leeds' Raphinha, Liverpool's Curtis Jones, Everton's Abdoulaye Doucoure, Arsenal's Emile Smith-Rowe and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and West Ham's Michail Antonio.
The defender, who signed from Ajax, has been playing as the right-back for the club during the absence of Tariq Lamptey, and if he keeps his performance levels high, it could prove to be a challenge for Lamptey to regain his spot in the starting eleven.

Lamptey played the first half against Swansea City in the Carabao Cup, getting some valuable minutes under his belt but was an unused substitute during the clash with Crystal Palace.
