ALBION striker Neal Maupay caused some anger amongst the Crystal Palace players with his celebration on Monday night.

The French striker scored a 96th-minute equaliser at Selhurst Park, snatching victory away from the Eagles in what was a hard-fought rival match.

Palace were leading the game after Leandro Trossard's clumsy challenge on Conor Gallagher gifted them a penalty, which Wilfred Zaha put away. The Ivorian then celebrated in front of the Albion fans by cupping his ears.

This form of celebration is used to annoy opposition fans as it signifies that the player can't hear them.

However, karma would come back to bite Zaha in the next hour. Joel Veltman played a fantastic first-time pass to Maupay, who dutifully lobbed Vincente Guaita to square the game late on.

Maupay is known for his celebrations and how they can wind up opposition fans and players. The striker has used a crying face celebration against Manchester United.

And he could not pass up the opportunity to get one back at Zaha for his first-half antics. Maupay ran in front of the rowdy Palace fans who had been silenced by his goal cupping his ear.

Zaha confronted the striker following the celebrations, but when asked about it, Maupay said: "When I looked scored, I looked at Zaha and smiled at him, and I saw him celebrating his penalty in the first half, he gave to some of our fans."

"I think football is nothing without fans and without involvement from fans, it is a derby, so everyone wanted to win."

Albion fans on social media were full of praise for the Maupay, with some hailing his "world-class s***housery" a term for underhanded conduct or gamesmanship in a sport.

One fan said: "Top s***housery from Maupay. Zaha Crying."

Another fan said: "Maupay mocking and copying his celebration is s***housery everyone has time for.

One fan on Twitter said: "Neal Maupay is up there with Jamie Vardy for world-class s***housery."

The Leicester City striker famously celebrated in front of Palace fans after scoring by mimicking the wings of an Eagle by flapping his arms, much to the anger of fans.
