Graham Potter says Solly March deserves his new contract – but the best is yet to come.
The wing-back has signed a deal which runs until June 2024.
He has helped Albion open the season with two wins after recovering from a knee injury.
Head coach Potter said of the new deal: “It’s very well deserved. He’s a player that’s getting better and better, growing.
“He’s still not at his maximum and can improve still, which is exciting for him and for us.
“We’ve got him at a good time, in terms of the next few years, so we can carrying on working with him and he can give us the flexibility of playing pretty much anywhere along the left side, but can also play on the right as well.
“I’m really pleased for him and pleased for the club because he’s a great lad and a really top player.”
March was enjoying a fine 2020-21 season until he was injured at Anfield.
Potter said: “Credit to him, credit to the medical staff that do the work with him.
SOLLY MARCH READY TO KICK ON WITH NEW DEAL
“He has worked well in pre-season, which has given him the chance to perform.
“Two really good performances, away at Burnley, which is not easy, and here where he’s playing against a very, very tough opponent (Watford winger Ismaila Sarr) and he did it really well.”
