Solly March has vowed to build on a double winning start to the season – helped by the boost of a new contract.
The wing-back from Hailsham has signed a deal which runs until June 2024.
He has been part of wins over Burnley and Watford which have sent the Seagulls flying into third place in the very early Premier League table.
March, who shone in a 2-0 success over Watford at the Amex, said of the new deal: “It’s massive for me.
“I’ve been here for almost ten years now so, for another three or four years, I’m delighted to be here and I can’t wait to get going and start these next three or four years at the club.
“Hopefully we can push on as a club in that time.
“Our aim is to become a top-ten Premier League club and hopefully we can do that soon.”
March has made an impressive start to the season after overcoming the knee injury which cut short his 2020-21 campaign.
He looked in great shape patrolling the left touchline against Watford.
The 27-year-old said: “I’ve grown into it so far.
“Maybe this was a step up from the first game but I’ve been out a long time.
“It’s going to take a bit of time to get into my stride and have that confidence in my body again.
“I’ve got through two 90 minutes of football, now I’ve just got to keep getting through the games and building on my performances.
“I’m happy to get through the two games and hopefully I can contribute more now.”
Stands at the Amex were filled closer to capacity than they have been for 17 months and fans were given plenty to enjoy.
Albion have opened a top-flight season with two wins for the first time as they now look to a visit from Everton on Saturday.
March said: “It’s a nice feeling to have the fans back, getting behind us, that 12th man.
“When they get behind you, it gives you a lift and you can drive forward. That helped us a lot.”
