A senior figure at Getafe says there is no offer on the table for Marc Cucurella.
The former Barcelona player remains of interest to Albion as he prepares for the Olympic final with Spain.
But Getafe sporting director Angel Martin says there is no bid in at the moment.
Martin was asked about prized assets Cucurella, who helped Spain beat Japan in today’s semi-final in Saitama, and Mauro Arambarri.
He said: “They are players who have had good seasons, been at a high level.
“At this moment we do not have any offer for either Marc or Mauro.
“We want to keep the squad together.”
Spain complete their Olympic programme on Saturday when they face Brazil in the final.
BRIGHTON REVEAL ANTI-COVID MEASURES FOR FANS AT THE AMEX
Albion and Getafe meet in a friendly at the Amex later in on the day.
The Argus was told on Sunday evening that nothing had changed in terms of their pursuit of Cucurella.
A well-placed source said he was “of interest, but nothing going on at this time”.
Cucurella's progress in Japan would appear to rule him out of action with Albion, were he to sign, until after the first international break of the seaoson.
