Jofra Archer has revealed his own Freedom Day is a month away – in terms of bowling fast.
But the Sussex and England star is glad to be back in action.
Archer bowled three overs for 20 as Sharks beat Kent in the Vitality Blast on Sunday.
It was a surprise return after elbow surgery and he was not sure when he would play next.
But he expects to be bowling with freedom in about a month if progress is maintained.
Archer said: “I’m still probably another month away from where I would like to be but (Sunday) is a good start.
“I’m probably not as competitive as I’d like to be.
“I’m still bowling with a bit of restriction so probably restriction-free in that month.
“We will probably spend the next few days seeing what is next.
“But (Sunday) is a tick for me so I’m happy with that.”
Sussex face Oxfordshire in a 50-overs friendly at Hove today (11am).
It is the first match at the ground since many restrictions were lifted but is still all-ticket
