Albion are poised for more transfer activity as players return to training.
But it is not likely to feature FC Porto winger Luis Diaz.
The Colombia international has been speculatively linked with the Seagulls as he starred in the Copa America.
But The Argus has been told by a well-placed source that such reports are “complete nonsense”.
Albion's move to sign Kawasaki Frontale winger Kaoru Mitoma is ongoing but he would initially go out on loan to Union St-Gilloise while securing a UK work permit.
He is currently preparing to represent Japan in the Olympics.
The Argus has been told there is still work to be done but the deal is progressing - and the subsequent loan stint in Belgium is a possibility.
His arrival would be similar to that which saw Percy Tau brought in from South Africa, with the advantage that USG now offer a higher level of competition than they did when the South African arrived in Europe.
The next activity is likely to be based around the goalkeeping position.
Maty Ryan has been away but remains close to a move to Real Sociedad.
Followers of the Socceroos goalkeeper on Instagram will be aware he has been holidaying on the west coast of the USA but it is thought he could complete terms in northern Spain early next week.
JEREMY SARPIENTO IS UP AND RUNNING WITH ALBION
Meanwhile young Ajax keeper Kjell Scherpen has arrived in England and it is anticipated he will be announced as a new signing for the Seagulls.
Any development on loan deals – one of which could involve Scherpen – will become clearer as training resumes next week.
Albion and clubs across the country will become more aware of their needs in the summer market, permanent and loan, as training and friendly fixtures kick in.
