AN AIRPORT may change the name of one of its two terminals should England win the Euros.
Gatwick Airport near Crawley, is considering changing the name of the South Terminal to Southgate Terminal, in honour of England manager Gareth Southgate.
The England team confirmed their spot in the final of Euro 2020 last night after beating Denmark at Wembley Stadium.
The Three Lions came from a goal behind to win the game in extra time, thanks to an own goal from Simon Kjaer and a strike from captain Harry Kane.
Southgate, who is from Crawley, has helped lead the team to their first tournament final since 1966, when they beat West Germany in the World Cup.
The Twitter account for the airport said before kick-off against Denmark: “We’re cheering on the Three Lions in tonight’s Euro 2020 game - in particular our homegrown Crawley hero Gareth Southgate.
“If he brings it home, what do you think about renaming the South Terminal to ‘Southgate Terminal?”

Gareth Southgate’s England team will play Italy in the final of the competition on Sunday at 8pm. The Italians beat Spain in the other semi-final by penalties.
The South Terminal is currently closed due to less frequent flights, which are only operating out of the North Terminal.
Gatwick Airport, also known as London Gatwick, is the second busiest airport by total passenger traffic in the UK, London Heathrow Airport is the busiest.
It is also the tenth busiest airport in Europe.
