Robert Sanchez is likely to face one more set of penalties before Spain head to Wembley for the Euro 2020 semi-finals.

The Albion goalkeeper and his colleagues Unai Simon and David De Gea have been in the firing line in recent weeks.

A report by Marca reveals boss Luis Enrique has insisted on penalties, including the walk from halfway to the 12-yard spot, at the end of training sessions since the squad got together.

Spain were far from faultless from the spot in the quarter-final against Switzerland on Friday.

But they did enough to scrape through against the side who knocked France out on penalties in the previous round.

Unai Simon pulled off two saves to cancel out failures by Sergio Busquets and Rodri.

Spanish sports newspaper Marca reveals Simon’s performances in training ground shoot outs have been no better than those of Sanchez and David De Gea.

But, as first choice, he was the man in the thick of it after the sides shared a 1-1 draw in St Petersburg.

Sanchez is working with Spain’s recently-appointed goalkeeper coach Jose Sambade, who had a record of improving his team’s success rate against penalties when he was at Deportivo La Coruna and Besiktas.

Spain had a rest day yesterday and training resumes first thing this morning before they fly to London to face Italy at Wembley tomorrow.
