Moises Caicedo joined Ecuador team mates to celebrate after they qualified for the last eight of the Copa America.
The Albion midfielder was stretchered off with a knee injury in worrying scenes inside the first few minutes of his side’s final group game, against hosts Brazil.
He was due for an MRI scan today with suggestions he will leave the tournament.
A goal from Angel Mena, the player who replaced him from the bench, secured a 1-1 draw for La Tri and took them into Sunday’s quarter-final.
There was no update on Caicedo from coach Gustavo Alfaro after the game.
But Caicedo was smiling in the centre of the celebration photo taken in the changing room and posted on the Ecuador national team’s Instagram account.
Caicedo posted the same photo with the caption Vamosss!!! (Let’s go!).
He could also be seen jumping and dancing on a video uploaded by a team-mate from the changing room.
A clean bill of health for the teenager would come as a major relief to Albion and their fans.
