It is not all about the Euros for Albion in terms of tournament football.
Club staff and, no doubt, a fair few fans will follow events in South America this evening.
After Jakub Moder's efforts for Poland in Spain, another young Seagulls midfielder, Moises Caicedo, is likely to play for Ecuador against Venezuela in the Copa America (10pm BST).
Caicedo started a 1-0 defeat to Colombia as Ecuador opened their campaign in Brazil.
His arrival at Albion midway through last season caused a lot of interest.
He showed promise in the under-23s and there was some disappointment among fans that he did not get a run out in the Premier League at the end of the season.
The thoughts at Albion are that would have been a big ask.
Those few weeks were just a taster for what will be a big summer and season ahead.
Current thinking is to have a good look at him in pre-season and then decide whether he is ready for the Premier League.
The Argus understands it is not yet a given that he will remain in the Prem squad next term.
Staff have been impressed by how he has settled since his mid-season arrival from Ecuador.
They believe he is fitting in well and note that his English has progressed very quickly.
Staff see him as a nice lad who is good technically.
But a decision over next season will be made after careful and prolonged study of his work in pre-season.
Loan stints in the Championship or in Europe have not been ruled out.
Caicedo remains one of two Ecuadorians on the staff given that that Billy Arce still has a year of his contract to run.
With each passing year, it appears the winger signed in 2018 has less chance of ever making it over to England.
Albion have not given up on Arce, who they returned to his homeland after an initial spell in the Spanish second division.
The club have developed a strategy of signing emerging talent from overseas.
Arce has spent time in jail while an Albion player and seems a lively character.
More positively, he has played in the Copa Libertadores, scoring four goals for LDU Quito in the recent group stages as they finished third and headed for the second-tier Copa Sudamericana.
Albion are aware young players will take different development paths.
They are willing to keep an eye on Arce, who turns 23 next month, during the final season of his Albion contract as he remains on loan at LDU.
He has already played a part in bringing Caicedo to the club.
If Arce himself does not make it, Albion will not be discouraged from following the overseas strategy.
They see the progress of their two Polish youngsters as an example of how it can work.
When Moder arrived in January, it was not clear how quickly he would be in the Prem frame.
Head coach Graham Potter might have decided he needed another loan stint. Instead, he was very impressed and Moder has made his way into the Prem.
More patience might be required with his compatriot Michal Karbownik.
A tailored pathway is developed for each player as technical staff study them carefully.
What remains for Caicedo remains to be seen.
JAKUB MODER HELPS POLAND DRAW IN SPAIN 2020
Back in Ecuador, reaction to his display against Colombia appears to have been mixed.
There seems to have been a school of thought that he looked a bit rusty.
That the lack of competitive first team action had affected him.
It has been a bit of a shock to see one of their leading stars playing under-23s football for a far-away club they had never heard of.
Caicedo was in what looked like the first-choice XI when Ecuador trained on Thursday with a view to the Venezuela game.
His efforts on Brazil will be monitored here in England.
There is no doubt about that.
