Albion expert Warren Aspinall is to receive a league winner’s medal - 34 years late.
Aspinall helped Everton to the title in the 1986-87 season as they regained the crown off neighbours Liverpool.
His six appearances were not enough for a gong under rules at the time.
But the Toffees have announced players in Aspinall’s position will receive back-dated medals.
Aspinall went on to play for a host of clubs, including Albion, and is well known to fans these days for his work as a summariser on BBC Sussex.
He said: “It’s great of Everton to do this. I was so privileged to be a part of that squad and to get a medal after all this time means the world to me and my family.”
