How Albion’s players rated against Arsenal.
Robert Sanchez 6/10:
Almost had a mix-up with Adam Webster when coming to claim a cross.
Misjudged Granit Xhaka’s cross late on in the first half and was relieved to see Gabriel’s header drop onto the bar.
Could do nothing about either of the goals.
Ben White 7/10:
Was given the job of playing at right back and made some nice runs which were not spotted by his teammates.
He also made a couple of good blocks.
Lewis Dunk 7/10:
Came back into the side and made a couple of good blocks and defensive clearances.
Adam Webster 8/10:
Another impressive display from the defender, who kept Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang quiet and made a number of good blocks.
Dan Burn 6/10:
A tale of two halves for the defender.
Had the tough job of marking the in-form Nicholas Pepe, but did well in the first half.
In the second half he struggled and was caught upfield in the build-up to the second goal.
Yves Bissouma 8/10:
Made some good defensive clearances from set pieces.
Saw his effort go inches wide in the second half.
Kept going until the end and ran himself into the ground.
Pascal Gross 6/10:
Put in a couple of good deliveries which the Arsenal defence had to deal with.
Jakub Moder 8/10:
Was moved into midfield.
Saw his effort blocked in the first half.
Had their best chance of the second half as his effort from range forced Bernd Leno into a good save.
Alexis Mac Allister 6/10:
Played a lovely dummy to set-up Moder for his chance.
He was replaced by Steven Alzate in the 65th minute.
Alireza Jahanbakhsh 5/10:
Made a couple of good interceptions, but his final ball let him down in the first half.
Was replaced by Adam Lallana at half time.
Leandro Trossard 5/10:
Returned to the starting XI, but it was a quiet afternoon for him and he was replaced by Aaron Connolly at half time.
Substitutes:
Adam Lallana N/A:
Put enough pressure on Odegaard to stop him making it 2-0 minutes after Pepe’s opener.
Aaron Connolly N/A:
Looked lively up top but his finishing let him down.
Steven Alzate N/A:
Did not do much after coming on.
