Albion winger Leandro Trossard has been named in Belgium's 26-man squad for the Euros.

The 26-year-old earnt his first cap for the Red Devils in September coming off the bench in their 2-0 win Denmark in the UEFA Nations League.

He scored his first goal for Belgium in the last international break in March scoring a brace in the 8-0 win over Belarus in a World Cup qualifier.

Trossard has also made 33 appearances for Albion in the Premier League scoring four goals and getting five assists.

That form has seen him named in the 26-man squad, which includes eight other Premier League players in Spurs' Toby Alderweireld, Leicester trio Timothy Castagne, Youri Tielemans and Dannis Praet, Wolves' Lenader Dendonker, Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne and Crystal Palace duo Michy Batshuayi and Christian Benteke.

Trossard has only played the full 90 minutes in 13 of the Seagulls 33 appearances, having been substituted in the other 20 matches.

But Potter admitted that was not due to concerns over his energy levels.

He said: “I just think to play 90 minutes week-in, week-out in the Premier League in the attacking positions is so difficult to do.

"If you think about what he has to deal with it is essentially a move to the UK, a completely different league, a really physically league. We have gone into lockdown.

"He is from Belgium. He hasn’t been able to see his family, he has gone away on every international camp, didn’t have too much of a break in the summer.

"No break in the internationals. It is a little bit to be expected. It has been a tough year for him.

"He has contributed to what we have done a lot and I think he will be better for this experience.

"We need to make sure he has a good summer, make sure that he recovers as much as he can and then I am pretty sure he will be fantastic for us next season.”
