Graham Potter says Danny Welbeck’s future will be discussed at the end of the season.
The former England striker is out of contract at the end of the current campaign.
But his performances have helped the Seagulls to the brink of safety.
He scored a superb goal in today's 2-0 win over Leeds at the Amex.

GRAHAM POTTER PRAISES HIS ALBION SIDE
Asked about securing Welbeck on a new deal, head coach Potter said: “The intention is there but the most important thing at this stage is we finish the season off as strongly as we can.
"That’s us as a team and that’s Danny as a professional.
"He’s a top guy and he wants to finish the season off well.
"He wants to complete the job he has started with us, which is absolutely normal, and then we will sit down with all the guys and talk about the future.
"But now it’s just about getting the points we need."
