Albion under-23s announced on Monday that eight players have been offered new contracts at the club.

Five players were not given new deals and will be released on June 30, when their contracts expire.

The five players who will be released are Danny Cashman, Peter Gwargis, Kipras Kazukolovas, Roco Rees and Stefan Vukoje.

The most surprising of those who were let go is Cashman.

The 20-year-old from Crawley was the Seagulls’ second highest goalscorer this season, having netted six times in the BPL 2 with only skipper Teddy Jenks (eight) having scored more.

He ended the campaign by scoring two goals and getting two assists in their last three matches.

Cashman took to Twitter yesterday after being released.

The other shock departure out of the five is winger Gwargis.

The 20-year-old had featured twice for Albion in the Carabao Cup, coming on as a substitute in the win at home to Portsmouth and away to Preston.

These are the eight players who have been offered new deals and here is how they have got on this season:

Adam Debois

The 20-year-old keeper has only made one appearance for the 23s as he came off the bench to replace Carl Rushworth in their 2-2 draw against Everton in December.

Tom McGill:

Another goalkeeper, he spent the first half of the season out on loan at League Two side Crawley, where he made five appearances in all competitions.

That included their FA Cup first round 6-5 victory over Torquay, where he was taken off in the 64th minute after suffering concussion in a collision.

He then returned to Albion in January after having his loan cut short.

The 21-year-old made two appearances in the BPL 2, against Tottenham and Arsenal, where he conceded five goals in both games.

He was also an unused substitute for the Seagulls in their 1-0 win away at Liverpool in February.

McGill has also been capped for England from under-16s to 20s.

Ayo Tanimowo

The right-back has shone for Albion this season.

He has made 19 appearances in the BPL 2 and has picked up one assist in their 6-1 win at home to West Ham in February.

The 19-year-old also won a free kick in their 0-0 draw at Manchester United after making a superb forward run which led to United defender Will Fish pulling him down and being sent off.

He is definitely one player that fans will want to keep a close eye on.

Sam Packham

The 19-year-old defender from Redhill has made 12 appearances in all competitions at left-back during this season.

Having watched him on a few occasions, he has shown he is a good defender and can put in some good crosses going forward.

Marc Leonard

The 19-year-old has impressed this season and has made 17 appearances in all competitions.

Fourteen of those came in the BPL 2, where he has picked up two assists.

The first of them came in the 6-1 win over West Ham as he set up Lars Dendoncker, brother of Wolves’ Leander Dendoncker for their sixth goal of the game.

His most recent assist came at the start of this month in the 3-0 win over Southampton, where he played a great ball in behind for Cashman to score his brace.

The midfielder, who isfrom Glasgow has been capped for Scotland at under-17 and 19.

Jack Spong

The 19-year-old midfielder from Redhill has been a regular for Albion making 20 appearances in all competitions.

Seventeen came in the BPL 2, scoring in their 5-1 defeat to Tottenham in January.

Lorent Tolaj

The 19-year-old striker has found game time hard to come by having only made two appearances this season.

He has also been capped at under-17 to 19 for Switzerland.

Ben Wilson

The striker has made 15 appearances. Twelve came in the league with five as starts.

In return he has scored one goal which the opening goal in their 1-1 draw away at Blackburn last month.

He also made three appearances in the EFL Trophy where he scored a brace against League Two side Leyton Orient in their 3-2 defeat at The Breyer Group Stadium in September, after coming off the bench in the 58th minute. Wilson has also been capped twice for Northern Ireland’s under-19s.
