Chris Kavanagh will take charge of Albion’s game versus Leeds.
The referee from Lancashire was in the spotlight – and widely criticised - when he sent off West Ham’s Fabian Balbuena against Chelsea at the weekend.
Balbuena caught Ben Chilwell with his follow through as he cleared the ball.
The referee showed his first Prem red of the season after being invited to review the incident by VAR Peter Bankes.
The dismissal was today overturned on appeal.
Kavanagh was also involved in several talking points, some including VAR, at the Amex earlier this season when he took charge of Manchester United’s after-hours 3-2 win.
His video assistant this time will be Jarred Gillett.
The full officiating team is as follows…
Referee: Chris Kavanagh. Assistants: Dan Cook, Neil Davies. Fourth official: John Brooks. VAR: Jarred Gillett. Assistant VAR: Lee Betts.
