In-demand Yves Bissouma is loving his football with Albion.

The midfielder returns to the stage of one of his most significant performances for the club as the Seagulls visit Sheffield United this evening (8pm, Sky Sports).

Another impressive display would only add to transfer talk which sees him linked with elite Premier League clubs.

Bissouma returned to the starting XI at Bramall Lane last term and made a chaotic start, including an early yellow card, before settling to play a mature part in a 1-1 draw.

He has gone from strength to strength since then and boss Graham Potter accepts he could move on.

At the same time, he believes Bissouma is delighted with life at Albion and in Brighton.

Potter said: “Like any player, we have to be honest and sensible enough to know that if a player is good enough to play at that level and has that opportunity, then we shouldn’t be scared of that.

“Clearly there’s a consequence to that in terms of transfer fees, etc etc. That’s out of my control.

“But it’s not thing for us to feel negatively about. In a way, it should be a feeling of pride.

“At the same time, Yves is happy. He’s enjoying his football, he enjoys his life.

“He knows he’s in an environment here that people care for him, that look after him and want the best for him. He’s in a really good position.

“So you have to trust in that, trust in the process, keep helping him improve and keep helping him enjoy his football and then who knows what happens.”

Potter believes Bissouma has made great strides since that previous trip to the steel city.

He added: “Our job is to help him carry on developing.

“But we’re delighted with what he’s done this year.

“He has taken some good steps and it’s nice that he’s enjoying his football.”
