Albion expect to release Percy Tau for the Olympics.
The South Africa forward was named in his nation’s initial squad for Tokyo as an over-age player.
The Games take place during pre-season ahead of the 2021-22 campaign.
Seagulls head coach Graham Potter today revealed he would be happy to allow Tau to go.
He said: “I think it is something we will speak with Percy.

“If a player is selected for his country, we are happy for that.
“We should support that. It’s a big moment for him in his career and his family.
“So I would say yes, I would be happy for him.
“And then it’s about what he wants to do as well.”
