Skipper Lewis Dunk felt Albion cost themselves in the first half of their goalless draw against Everton by being sloppy when they were in possession.
The Seagulls dominated the game and had 23 chances during the match and restricted Everton to very little.
In the first half, Albion had a number of opportunities through Jakub Moder, Yves Bissouma, Danny Welbeck and Neal Maupay but could not find the back of the net.
However, Dunk felt that they were careless on the ball at times.
He told Sky Sports: "We were dominant, we passed the ball better in the second half than we did in the first half.
"I think in the first half at times we were sloppy and gave the ball away at the end of the first half when they had a few transitions that they were trying to get.
"We improved in the second half, but unfortunately we could not get the win."
