Joel Veltman has described Brighton as a mini Santa Monica.
The Albion defender has told Dutch media he is enjoying his new life in England.
But he knows his move from Ajax surprised a few people.
Veltman told ELF Voetbal magazine: “Brighton is a pleasant, quiet city. There is a typical British pier with such an arcade hall.

“A small version of Santa Monica in Los Angeles. There is a roller coaster. We have been in that many times.
“A number of players were surprised that I exchanged Ajax for Brighton, for only £900k.
“And yes, you can think with Ajax, you play Champions League every season and not even European at Brighton.”
