Percy Tau's second half strike rescued a point for South Africa as they drew 1-1 against Ghana in their African Cup of Nations qualifier.
There was some concern as to whether the Albion striker would emerge for the second half after being on the receiving end of a heavy challenge five minutes before half time.
Tau then spent the rest of the first half limping around, before taking his right boot off and having to be assisted down the tunnel by two of South Africa’s backroom staff.
However, he emerged in the second half and looked to have shaken off the knock he has taken.
In the 48th minute, Ghana took the lead after Mohammed Kudus got in behind the Bafana Bafana defence and then calmly slotted the ball into the bottom corner.
However, that lead lasted just under five minutes with Tau getting South Africa back on level terms.
He drove into the box before then firing his effort into the bottom corner, to score his 13th goal for his country.
That goal means he is now fifth on the list of South Africa’s all-time top goalscorers.
The point means they remain second in Group C.
