Leandro Trossard has the “arrogance and confidence” needed to star in the Premier League.
That is the view of Graham Potter after the Belgian scored in back-to-back games.
It is the second time he has done that, following goals at Norwich and at home to Liverpool in the restart fixtures last summer.
Trossard has been urged to be more productive in the final third.
He has responded by doubling his goals total for the season over the past eight days.
Potter said﹕ “He’s unique, as all our players are.
“They all bring their attributes and personalities to the performance.
“I think he is so talented in terms of how he can receive the ball, in terms of how he can affect the goal even though he is disappointed and we are to a certain extent with his output so far.
“Not from the want of trying.
“I think he has been a little bit unlucky.
“I think he has hit the post and the bar more times than anyone else in the league, I would imagine.
“That goes the other way and all of a sudden you are looking at a big number in terms of how he is affecting the goal.
“But he has been great. He is developing all the time, getting better all the time.
“He has a real arrogance and confidence, in a good way, to affect the game.”
Trossard has produced some scintillating moments since scoring on his debut at home to West Ham in the first home game of last season.
POTTER TELLS ALBION THEY STILL HAVEN'T GOT ENOUGH POINTS
But he has also been inconsistent and faded out of matches.
Potter said﹕ “He has been with us 18 months now and he has just taken steps and steps.
“A couple of injuries, adapting to a new league, adapting to a new country, adapting to a new club and team.
“But he has got better and better. Getting stronger, understanding the team mates. Understanding the league more.
“Like everybody, if he contributes in terms of scoring and assists it makes him feel better and I think his performances just get stronger and stronger.”
