Albion’s 12-second goalscorer Maheta Molango is poised to take over in charge of the PFA.
The former striker, 38, is reportedly set to be unveiled as chief executive in succession to Gordon Taylor.
Molango scored just 12 seconds into his debut for Albion away to Reading at the start of the 2004-05 season.

It proved to be his only goal for the club.
He went on to play for Lincoln and Oldham before embarking on a successful career in Madrid as a lawyer specialising in sport.
Among the players he represented was ex-Albion favourite Leo Ulloa.
Molango was chief executive at Real Mallorca as they won promotion to the top tier in Spain.
