Albion head coach Graham Potter has given an update on the injury setback that defender Tariq Lamptey has suffered.
The 20-year-old has not played for the Seagulls since December in their 0-0 draw at Fulham.
Ahead of their defeat to Leicester last weekend Potter confirmed in his pre-match press conference that Lamptey had suffered a problem with his hamstring and was going to see a specialist.
Reports emerged earlier this week suggesting that he had undergone surgery on the hamstring problem that has kept him out for nearly three months and will miss the rest of Albion’s Premier League campaign.
But Potter has given the following update on whether Lamptey and whether he could feature again this season for them.
He said: “Obviously Tariq is still away as he hasn’t responded well with his hamstring.
"He looks like he will need surgery and he will miss the rest of this season.”
Potter also gave an update on Aaron Connolly and Adam Webster, who also missed the defeat with Leicester.
He said: “Aaron has got a cracked rib, but he is making good progress.
"But he will probably not be back until after the international break. It is sore at the moment and there is not much we can do at the moment.
“Adam is making good progress."
