Graham Potter has highlighted the squad effort which has taken Albion top of a current form category.

The Seagulls are fourth in the Premier League table covering the last six games going into today’s fixtures.

But they have the best defensive record in that time with just one goal conceded.

Manchester City, who top the form table overall with a maximum 18 points, have been breached twice.

Chelsea and Wolves, who kept a rather fortunate clean sheet at home to Leeds last night, have each let in three.

Albion hope for another clean sheet when Crystal Palace visit the Amex on Monday.

Head coach Potter said: “In this league it’s a group effort because we try and work so that everyone feels part of what we’re doing and feels involved.

“The understanding is there so that if people have to come into the side then things don’t alter so much.

“Credit to the players because they have been through an intense period of matches but have taken those challenges on really well and they are enjoying their football, which is nice.”

The value of that defensive record is underlined by the fact Albion are fourth on current form despite being the joint lowest scorers in that period.

They have scored four goals in their last six outings, the same as Southampton.

But Saints, having let in 20, are bottom of the last-six table with no points.

By contrast, Albion’s four goals have earned them 12 points.
