Yves Bissouma has revealed he was left broken-hearted by a colleague’s serious injury.
Solly March could miss the rest of the season after suffering a knee problem during the recent win at Liverpool.
Bissouma had hoped to see him make a quick return after being helped off in front of the Kop.
The midfielder revealed: “My heart was broke.
“In the game I thought he was going to miss maybe one or two weeks and he’s going to come back after that.
“But, after the game, I talked with him and he told me he needed an operation and he would maybe miss the rest of the season. My heart was broke.”
Albion used Steven Alzate on the left and made some associated adjustments to their defensive set-up from kick-off against Aston Villa last Saturday.

The option of playing Dan Burn as a genuine wing-back will return when Adam Webster (ankle) is passed fit.
But head coach Graham Potter reckons that is unlikely to happen in time for Monday’s game at home to Crystal Palace.
