Graham Potter says Albion's squad is in its “best place” since he arrived at the club.

But that is no guarantee of a win over Crystal Palace.

The Seagulls can beat their old foes for the first time under Potter’s command when the sides clash at the Amex on Monday (8pm).

Potter is aware Roy Hodgson and Palace will make life far from easy.

But Albion go into the game unbeaten in six in total and their last four at home.

The Seagulls’ head coach said: “The group is in the best place it has been since I have been here.

“That’s down to a healthy competition because everyone wants to play.

“The guys who aren’t playing are supportive and ready to help the team, which is really good for us.

“The atmosphere is good and that’s because we’ve come through a tough time and remained together and had some good results. You can grow as a result of that experience.”

He added: “We just have to concentrate on the next game, which is a big one for our supporters and big one for us to try and improve our points tally.

“We’re in a good moment but, in this league, you always have to start again.

“No side will care too much about what you did in the past.

“Crystal Palace will turn up and be committed looking to win the match.”
