Albion defender Rebekah Stott has confirmed that she will miss the rest of the season due to medical reasons.
The 27-year-old joined the Seagulls at the start of the season and has made seven appearances since her arrival.
However, she has not featured for Albion since their 3-1 defeat at home to Reading on December 20.
Stott took to Twitter this morning with the following message: “I would like to inform everyone that I have returned home to Australia due to medical reasons.
“Although disappointed that I will miss the remainder of the FA WSL season, I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Brighton & Hove Albion so far and wish Hope and the girls the very best of luck for the remainder of the season.
“I would also like to thank everyone who has supported me so far.
"I will share an update on my health when I am ready, but until then I ask that everyone respects my privacy at this time."

Albion head coach Hope Powell said: “We wish Rebekah all the best and fully support her decision to return home.
"In her relatively short time with us Stotty has become an extremely popular member of the squad who is liked and respected by everyone and we wish her all the best.”
