Graham Potter was pleased with his two Polish internationals on debut.
Both started last night’s FA Cup tie at Leicester City.
Michal Karbownik operated as right wing-back as Joel Veltman was left on the bench.
The long-striding Jakub Moder had a midfield role in a much-changed line-up.
Head coach Graham Potter said earlier this week he would have to think hard before using Karbownik in the heat of Premier League battle in the absence of wing-backs Solly March and Tariq Lamptey.
But last night’s fifth-round tie was seen as a good opportunity to see what they could do.
Karbownik in particular caught the eye with some spring-heeled darts forward.
POTTER'S VERDICT AFTER CUP DEFEAT
NO COMING BACK FROM THIS LATE HORROR SHOW
Potter said: “I was happy. They did really well. I thought they affected the game.
“It was their first game in a while. They have just settled in with us.
“But I’m delighted for them in terms of the level of performance they showed.”
