Albion's choice to swap Maty Ryan for Robert Sanchez has played a big part in their rise up the table.
For most of the season, Albion were embroiled in a relegation fight. Sanchez, however, has brought a new solidity to the Seagulls' backline.
The Spanish goalkeeper statistically has proved to be far superior to now Arsenal loanee Maty Ryan.
Sanchez has played one more game for Albion this season than Ryan but has only conceded 11 goals, eight fewer than his Australian counterpart.
Across the board, Sanchez has proven to be a statistically better goalkeeper than Ryan.
The current No.1 is close to the top in the league in terms of save percentage, conceding rate and clean sheet percentage.
Ryan, however, consistently finds himself as one of the worst performers in the league.
Some fans believed that Graham Potter should have stuck by Ryan. Recent results and performances from Sanchez, however, have proved Potter's decision to be the correct one.
ALBION FEEL BETTER-PREPARED FOR LEICESTER TRIP THIS TIME
Since Sanchez has taken the responsibility between the goalposts, Albion have dragged themselves away from trouble.
A point against Burnley on the weekend has left them 15th, ten points above the relegation zone.
