Leandro Trossard has been challenged to build on his winning goal against Spurs.

The Belgium international scored his second of the season to secure the 1-0 success over Tottenham.

He would love to follow it at Anfield tomorrow with his first on the road since securing three precious points at Norwich late last season.

Albion boss Graham Potter would love to see that happen.

Potter said: “It’s always the challenge for an offensive player to influence the scoreline, to score.

“They’ve been pushing, I think Leo has hit the post more than anybody in the league, I’d imagine.

“He has been close a lot. With a bit more luck, he’d have had a few more goals of course but that’s how it is.

“We’ve been working with him, he’s been working hard.

“Delighted for him that he could affect the scoreline and affect the three points for us and all the guys are just pushing to try and help the team.”

The Argus:

Trossard produced a great finish at the Amex to score against Liverpool last season.

But he has not always been so clinical.

He had a great chance early in the 0-0 draw with Fulham last week but shot too close to goalkeeper Alphonse Areola.

There was nothing wrong with the finish against Spurs.

THE MAJOR ACCOLADE CAICEDO HAS RECEIVED BACK HOME

Potter recognised the wait for a goal had been weighing on Trossard.

He added: “I think it’s normal, you get the goal, it’s a big moment.

“He was disappointed after the Fulham game because he felt he should have scored.

“It’s just part of the life of a forward. They miss – that’s the reality.

BEWARE THE LIVERPOOL COUNTER THREAT

“They don’t want to, or it’s not that they haven’t got the quality, because Leo has.

“It’s just sometimes it doesn’t happen, and it’s how you deal with that, how you react to that, that’s the most important thing.

“He has reacted well and, as a team, we’ve tried to react well and that gives you a chance that it becomes your day.”
