Percy Tau has revealed his biggest fans can’t wait to see him play for Albion in the Premier League - proudly wearing No.22.
Tau is closing in on a Prem debut after being recalled from loan at Anderlecht.
He does so two-and-a-half years after first signing for the club.
Now he has revealed how his family are anxious to see him get started.
Tau was one of eight children brought up by their single mother Elizabeth in the mining town of Witbank.
He told The Argus: “They are very excited and proud.
“They always asked, ‘When is it happening, when are they announcing you, when are we seeing you?’.
“They are saying, ‘Please go back to the No.22. We want to see you in 22 again’. They have always been supportive.
BIG INTERVIEW: TAU NEVER LOST HOPE ON LONG ROAD
“Two of my brothers were born on the 22nd – the two young ones.
“That is the number I played in when I was in South Africa. I fell in love with it.”
In recent seasons, No.22 has been worn by Shane Duffy and Martin Montoya.
