On-loan Albion defender Shane Duffy has left Celtic’s controversial mid-season break in Dubai for family reasons.
Duffy’s return to the UK sparked suggestions he could be lining up a January move.
But the Daily Record today reported it is understood he will remain at Celtic.
Sources at Parkhead have maintained Duffy will complete the season with them.
Albion have dismissed the possibility of him returning to the Amex and Duffy remains determined to make a favourable impression with Celtic.
Former Seagulls and Celtic centre-back Adam Virgo has been critical of Duffy and suggested a move to Nottingham Forest would make sense.
I REALLY, REALLY MISS THIS - TWEET WHICH SAID IT ALL
Virgo said: “Unfortunately, he has made too many mistakes which have led to goals.
“I don’t see Shane going back to Brighton because he won’t get in the side.
“Other clubs will take him in the Championship. I guarantee Chris Hughton, who had him at Brighton, would snap him up at Nottingham Forest.”
