Albion moved down a place in the Premier League, after Burnley beat Wolves 2-1 at Turf Moor this evening.
Goals in either half from two ex-Albion strikers secured the win for the Clarets, with Fabio Silva pulling a goal back late on from the penalty spot.
Ashley Barnes gave them the lead in the 36th minute, after he headed in Charlie Taylor's cross at the back post.
Burnley then doubled their lead in the 52nd minute, after Chris Wood smashed home from close range.
Wolves pulled a goal back late on after Silva was brought down by Josh Benson in the box.
Silva stepped up and scored to half the deficit.
The win for Burnley means they overtake the Seagulls and move into 16th place.
That leaves Albion 17th in the table at Christmas just two points and one place above Fulham, who dropped into the bottom three with the Clarets picking up the three points.
