Albion fans have been told how they can help their club successfully emerge from months of lockout.

But they have also been warned that any misbehaviour when the gates re-open could prove costly.

The Seagulls have issued a series of pointers for the lucky 2,000 who will attend the game against Southampton on Monday.

An obvious change to the test event when Chelsea visited in pre-season is the requirement to wear masks while watching the game.

For the Chelsea match, face coverings were mandatory while moving around and in more confined areas such as the concourses.

They must now also be worn in the stands – and briefly removed as part of the ID process when arriving at the turnstiles.

Supporters are being advised to drive to the Amex if possible.

They are asked not to take any bags to the stadium but, if is necessary, the bag must not be bigger than a piece of A4 paper.

A club message told fans: “The onus is on all of us to ensure the matchday runs smoothly so we can get back to a state of normality.

“If the rules aren’t followed, there’s always the risk that games will go back to being played behind closed doors or are unable to open up extra areas of the Amex.

“There will be government officials there keeping an eye on proceedings to ensure that everyone, both the club and fans, follow the rules.

“Supporters that do not follow the club's guidelines and code of conduct will be subject to sanctions.”

The normal matchday concession on public transport will be in operation but park and ride sites will remain closed.

Parking must be booked in advance via the club website and costs £15 or £10.

All 12 to 18 year-olds will need photo ID even if they are attending with a parent. There is no such requirement for under-12s.

There is no need to take your season card with you but you must have your digital or print-at-home ticket and photographic ID.

All supporters attending will have to complete a second medical declaration 24 hours before the game, reconfirming no Covid-19 symptoms or contact with anyone. 

Those normally exempt from wearing a mask must confirm that with the club via their ticket website ahead of the game.

Albion were delighted with the conduct of the 2,500 who saw the Chelsea game and confidently expect the same again.
