Pascal Gross has backed VAR in the Premier League – if it is used correctly.

The German star said he trusted his quality and technique as he drew his side level from the spot against Liverpool at the Amex.

He shrugged off arguments after Stuart Attwell reversed his initial call and said Andy Robertson HAD fouled Danny Welbeck.

Gross pointed out the late drama has not always gone Albion’s way and cited the 3-2 defeat at home to Manchester United.

He said: “I think when we use it well, it’s a good thing.

“If there’s an offside goal and you are 1-0 down, it’s a totally different game.

“I think it is good to have it if we use it right.”

WAS THAT THE BEST CHANCE TO BEAT LIVERPOOL SINCE 1983?

Gross calmly sent his spot kick down the middle as Alisson dived to his right.

He added: “It’s not an easy moment. I just trust my technique, trust my quality on that moment and I’m very pleased it went in and we got a point.

“Liverpool is a great team and it’s always hard to play.

POTTER'S VIEW ON THAT PENALTY

“We got our chances, we got our moments. Liverpool as well but that’s normal.

“I thought we deserved a result.”
