Albion striker Danny Welbeck felt it was a penalty on him after a dramatic end to their 1-1 draw with Liverpool at the Amex.
The penalty for Albion came in stoppage time after Welbeck went down in the box after a collision with Andrew Robertson.
Referee Stuart Attwell originally gave nothing, but VAR checked it and suggested he look at the pitchside monitor.
Attwell took one or two looks and then decided to change his decision and award the penalty as Robertson had made contact with Welbeck stopping him from getting to the ball.
Pascal Gross stepped up to score and secure a point for Graham Potter’s side.
After the game, Welbeck thought it was a penalty.
Speaking to BT Sport, he said: “Well in today’s game with the VAR, I have touched the ball before him obviously.
“I wanted to nick the ball and then get round him, but he has kicked me and then the ball.
“So, the referee has been over to the screen and seen it and made his decision.”
Albion had been given a penalty in the first half after Aaron Connolly went down in the box, after being fouled by Neco Williams.
Neal Maupay stepped up and sent his effort wide.
But Welbeck said it was just unfortunate for his strike partner.
He said: “We could have gone ahead in the game.
“Unfortunately, Neal missed the penalty, but these things happen and we move on.
“They went ahead and then could have gone even further ahead.
“But with the VAR there is no benefit of the doubt in the game and at the end of the day it is 1-1.”
