Neal Maupay had a first half to forget as Albion remained goalless with Liverpool today.
The four-goal French striker slid a penalty wide at the Amex after recalled Aaron Connolly was fouled by Neco Williams.
Maupay limped off a couple of minutes later with what seemed to be a hamstring injury.
Albion remained on terms at the break after Mo Salah’s goal was adjudged narrowly offside by VAR.
Maupay has not scored since netting at Everton two months ago.
He sent Alisson the wrong way from the spot today on 21 minutes but slid the ball narrowly wide.

Maupay should have already had an assist to his name by that point.
His through ball sent Connolly away but the Irish international – brought back today with Adam Lallana dropping to the bench – shot when clean through.
But Albion were relieved when VAR ruled out Mo Salah's goal for a narrow but correct offside verdict.
