Jurgen Klopp said he had no regrets about making changes in the Champions League.

The Liverpool boss has turned his attentions to playing Albion on Saturday after last night’s 2-0 defeat at home to Atalanta.

But he seemed to have half an eye on the Amex with his team selection and substitutions.

Klopp made five changes to his starting XI and then had four substitutes lined up on the touchline when Atalanta went ahead on the hour.

A disjointed Liverpool performance saw them fail to get a shot on target.

Klopp said: “We made five changes. It was very important for us that we did that.

“In the end, it didn’t work out. That is part of the deal.

“You never know before and, anyway, I would do it again.

“If you don’t have a shot on target, that is never a good sign.”

Liverpool will go through if they beat Ajax on Tuesday.

Klopp said: “What I think about at the moment is not Ajax, I’m sorry.

“We go in a few hours to Brighton and play there so that is the first thing we have to think about.”

Klopp said his squad did not pick up any new injuries and, during a TV interview, had another dig about the fixture schedule.

He is unhappy about playing at the Amex at 12.30pm on Saturday.

The Reds boss said: “You, my special friends, ask us to go on Saturday at 12.30, which is nearly a crime, to be honest, nearly a crime.

“Let’s recover immediately. The boys are completely disappointed, frustrated but we don’t have time for it, to be honest.

“It’s just get fresh legs as quickly as possible and go again.”
