Former Albion rising star Rohan Ince is back in business after signing up for an in-form National League outfit.

The midfielder, still only 28, made his debut for Maidenhead United in a 2-1 win at Chesterfield.

He secured a deal for Alan Devonshire’s side after a successful trial.

Ince made 91 appearances for the Seagulls, including 50 starts in the Championship, and earned some glowing reviews as a youngster.

He was converted from the centre-back role he had played as a kid at Chelsea and was one of three players, alongside fellow midfielder Jake Forster-Caskey and wideman Solly March, who made great strides in the 2013-14 season.

Fans will also recall the stunning volley he produced in a League Cup tie at Swindon early in the following campaign.

Ince scored Albion’s first league goal under Chris Hughton when he headed home a second-half winner at Charlton.

But he faded from the scene under the promotion-winning manager as Dale Stephens and Beram Kayal became the club’s midfield driving force and was allowed out on loan.

Ince joined Cheltenham after leaving the Seagulls in the summer of 2018.
