Harry Kane has admitted his penalty against Albion came thanks to a “50-50 decision”.
He says the collision which sent him to the spot was “not a definite foul”.
But he added he would expect to get such calls going his way half the time.
The England forward scored from the spot after a collision with Adam Lallana.
Kane said: “The ball is in the air. I’ve tried to put my body in between to shield the ball as you would from a goal kick or anything. He has jumped into the back of me with quite a bit of force which put me to the floor.
“The ref has given it as a free-kick, VAR has given it as a foul.
“I can understand maybe it’s a 50-50 decision. It’s not a definite foul that you get all the time but you definitely get five out of ten of them in a game."
Kane told Sky Sports Premier League: “Just the fact that it got turned into a penalty it becomes more of a talking point but that is why VAR is there.
“They have a look at it, they decide if they think it's a foul and the ref and the VAR both did and that’s why I got the penalty.”
