Yves Bissouma has apologised to Jamal Lewis for the incident which saw the Albion man sent off.
Kevin Friend showed a straight red card after reviewing the incident on the pitchside monitor.
Bissouma’s acrobatic attempt to back heel a bouncing ball led to him catching Lewis in the face with his boot.
He misses the visit of Manchester United next Saturday.

Bissouma went to check on Lewis, who was having treatment, before leaving the field.
He later sent an open tweeted to the Newcastle left-back, which read: “Brother, I’m really sorry I didn’t want to touch you. My intentions were more on the ball. I pray that you come back on the field stronger. I wish you a good recovery.”

He tweeted: "Very good teamwork, a little disappointed to go out on a red card but the main thing was the three points."
