Graham Potter wants to be handed some big Premier League selection decisions as Albion kick off their cup season.
Potter will make changes for the Carabao Cup second-round tie at home to Portsmouth tomorrow (7.45pm, Sky Sports).
He said the side he sends out will be strong and will target a third-round trip to Preston, which is the prize for the winners.
Potter said: “We don’t see it as a distraction, we see it as an opportunity, we see it as a positive.
“We want to win the game, we want to go through to the next round.
“The team we put out will be a strong team, a team I know will be full of really good players that want to play football and win the game and put pressure on to try to play on Sunday and the following games.”
Dutch international midfielder Davy Propper and young Swedish striker Viktor Gyokeres look set to feature.

Alireza Jahanbaksh and Pascal Gross had only brief outings against Chelsea on Monday.
Dale Stephens, Joel Veltman and Dan Burn remained on the bench duding the Prem opener while Alexis Mac Allister and Bernardo were among those who did feature at all.
Jayson Molumby looks a decent bet to get a chance to shine after a successful season on loan at Millwall.
Some of the younger pros are also being considered.
