Albion are preparing to help Florin Andone on the long road to full fitness.
The Romania striker suffered a knee injury while on loan at Galatasaray.
He is not likely to be fully fit this calendar year.
Andone fell out of favour under Graham Potter’s immediate plans early last season.
But his subsequent loan stint in Turkey was ruined by injury.
Head coach Potter said: “He is due back in Brighton and he will be back with us in the next few days, I am assuming.
“We will help him to get fit, we are looking forward to seeing him and working with him and helping him get fit and strong.
Albion want to see more of what Gyokeres can do
“He is still our player and has a contract with the club.
“He has been out on loan for reasons to get game time but, for the future, the main focus is to help him get fit and to work with him to get him back on the pitch as soon as we can.”
Andone signed a five-year deal with Albion in 2018 but it is unclear what the future holds for him once fully fit.
Potter said: “It is the really early stage of his rehab, so we won’t be looking until the new year really until he can safely be back on the pitch after the type of injury he has had.”
