Graham Potter wants Albion's attacking players to keep repaying his faith – as he decides which of them start against Norwich.

Albion’s head coach is aware some fans were alarmed to see strikers Jurgen Locadia and Florin Andone head out on loan after the Premier League transfer window closed.

But their departures helped open the way for Aaron Connolly and Steven Alzate to shine with both earning international call-ups.

Leandro Trossard came off the bench to good effect against Everton last Saturday but might have to bide his time again against the Canaries tomorrow.

Asked whether the decision to let two senior strikers go had been proved correct, Potter said: “I haven’t really thought about it like that.

“You have to make a decision that you think is the right thing for the player and for the team.

“We said at the time we were confident we had enough attacking players who can help us play football how we want to play.

“Now we have got good options. We spoke last week of Alireza (Jahanbakhsh) not being in the group and he is someone who can help us for sure going forward as well.

“We have good options and players who have not got the game time they would like.

“Aaron Connolly hadn’t made his debut at that time, Steven Alzate hadn’t made his debut at that time.

“So I can understand why there that was thought process.”

With Aaron Mooy back from a ban and Trossard hoping to start, Potter admits he has big calls to make.

He added: “I thought our subs had a real influence on the (Everton) game which is what you want from a coach’s perspective.

“All players want to play but the guys who finish the game are really important as well so the more options I have, the better.”
