Graham Potter has urged Albion not to be the nearly men of the Premier League.

The Seagulls aim to make up for points which got away at Aston Villa, and in other fixtures, when they host Everton tomorrow.

It is the first of two successive home games which could help them move up the table.

Albion are currently down in 16th place with nine points from as many games.

They have earned praise for their football but that is not reflected in the league table.

Potter said: “We have a feeling of frustration and you have to have that anger, that feeling.

“You can’t sit here saying we were unlucky and this and that.

“You get what you get. We have to do better in terms of results and just push our performance to get those results.

“I have been in football a long time. For me, the way you do it is to focus on your performance, focus on what you can do, how to win a game of football.

“That’s what we have been doing.”

Albion have let points slip at home to West Ham and Burnley but their frustration was never greater than after seeing reward snatched away in the final seconds at Villa.

Potter: “We have a feeling of frustration and anger, if you like.

“We need to channel that in the right way to respond.

“You have to go again if you have lost.

“I think that is what our supporters would expect from us – to analyse what we did well, what we did wrong, how we can improve and prepare for Everton.”

Bernardo and Jose Izquierdo remain Albion’s only absentees due to injury while Aaron Mooy serves a one-match ban after his red card at Villa.

Solly March, Steven Alzate and Leandro Trossard are all contenders to start having been on the bench last Saturday.
