Albion could add to their squad before the transfer deadline – with Aaron Mooy believed to be a target.
The Australian midfielder has been of interest to the Seagulls for some time.
Mooy, a national team mate of Albion goalkeeper Maty Ryan, suffered relegation with Huddersfield last season.
A well-placed source tonight confirmed Albion are "obviously very familiar with Mooy’s quality and he has been a player of interest for a while".
The Argus understands there could also be “one or two” exits if the right opportunity arises.
Albion are thought to be comfortable with the recruitment work they have already done this summer.
But the belief behind closed doors this evening is that one more signing could be made, which would be helpful for the coming campaign.
