Albion want their brightest young prospects to shine in the Championship.
The club are keen for more senior members of their under-23s to secure loan deals with second-tier clubs.
But they will want to be sure their youngsters have a realistic chance of significant playing time before agreeing to any such moves.
Leeds are interested in taking defender Ben White on loan next season.
Striker Aaron Connolly, who is currently at the Toulon tournament with the Republic of Ireland under-21s, is a prime candidate for a loan move.
Christian Walton, Max Sanders and George Cox are also among those who could go out if the deal is right.
Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa has identified White, who spent the second half of last season pushing for the League One play-offs with Peterborough, as the sort of reliable, ball-playing defender to fit his plans.
There is some doubt over the future of popular Leeds centre-back Pontus Jansson after the club failed to make the play-off final last term.
Albion would be intrigued to see how White fared in the spotlight at Elland Road after successful loans at Posh and Newport County.
But they would back away from any deal which seemed to involve their player being signed primarily as cover for senior colleagues.
Albion see the progress made by goalkeeper Walton, who helped Wigan win the League One title and then played 34 times in a successful survival battle in the Championship, as ideal.
That would seemingly rule out any move by Gillingham boss Steve Evans to take Connolly for the season.
Evans is known to be keen on an unidentified striker who is with a Premier League club and has gone to the Toulon tournament.
Connolly scored a brilliant goal for Albion at Peterborough in the Checkatrade Trophy last season when Evans was in charge of the home team.
