BRUNO is about to become a Brit.
Brighton and Hove Albion’s iconic captain has applied for British citizenship.
Bruno announced his retirement yesterday after seven years with the Seagulls.
Tomorrow’s match against Manchester City at the Amex will be the last of the 38-year-old Spaniard’s playing career.
He will stay at the club in a non-playing role and wants to make his love for his adopted country official after settling on the South Coast with wife Raquel, son Pol and daughter Adriana.
Bruno revealed to The Argus: “I’m just waiting to get the dates for the exam.
“Everything is done. I just need to have the date for the exam. If I am a good boy I will study a lot! And if it goes well I will have it soon.
“I really feel part of the community, part of the city.
“Of course, as well it’s for my kids. When we came my daughter was one month, my son was four.
“I’m more British than anywhere else and it’s a big opportunity for them for whatever they want to do.
“I like feeling a part of the country and the community even more.”
Bruno was born in El Mansou, a province of Barcelona.
He played in Spain for the first 13 years of his career before joining Albion from Valencia in 2012.
